🍰 Victoria Sponge Cake
Ingredients:

200g sugar

200g butter (softened)

4 eggs
-
200g self-raising flour

1 teaspoon baking powder
-
2 tablespoons milk
-
Jam (strawberry or raspberry)

Whipped cream or buttercream (for filling)
Instructions:

Preheat oven:
Heat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease two round cake tins. -
Mix batter:
In a bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one by one, then mix in flour, baking powder, and milk. -
Bake:
Divide the mixture between the two tins.
Bake for about 20–25 minutes, until golden and springy to touch.
Let cool completely. -
Assemble:
Spread jam and cream between the two cakes.
Dust with powdered sugar on top.
Serve:
Cut into slices and enjoy with a cup of tea — just like the British do! 🇬🇧☕
